ventures to deliver its energy and environmental strategies and targets (primarily

Thameswey Energy Ltd., is a public/private joint venture Energy Services Company
or ESCO between Thameswey Ltd., and ESCO International A/S owned by Miljo-Sam
Holding APS.
Projects are financed with shareholding capital and private finance with project
development carried out jointly between the Council and Hedeselskabet Miljo og
Energi A/S who also own DDH Contractors UK Ltd., who act as the turnkey
contractor on large scale district energy schemes. Hedeselskab is a foundation
committed to environmental projects whose patron is Her Majesty Queen Margarethe
II of Denmark.

SUST: The Lighthouse on Sustainability

SUST: The Lighthouse on Sustainability is a new and ground breaking campaign that
aims to raise awareness of sustainable design in the built environment. The unique
initiative takes as its starting point the Scottish Executive's recently published
'Meeting the Needs' document, which outlines its approach to sustainable
The 12-month pilot campaign, developed by The Lighthouse on behalf of the Scottish
Executive, engaged a wide ranging audience - from client groups, to architects, other
design professionals, and community-based organisations. As a result of the success
of the Sust. pilot, the Executive has funded a second extended phase running from
April 2004 until March 2007.
